The sales era began at the end of the production era due to the fact that people were becoming more connected and would no longer just buy products blindly and lasted roughly twenty years. This era was a very unorganized one where every company was competing with each other no matter what the product. It was all about price, not quality, but price. This fact was a big part of how everyone operated. Basically if you had a better price you had more customers.
